264. Archibald Bertram COOMBER was born in 1889 in Greenwich, London, England.1449,1450,1451 The 1891 census gives his birthplace as St Johns S.E. Kent. He lived at 22 George Lane in Lewisham, London, England in 1891.935 He lived at 74 Balcombe Street at Regents Park in London, England in 1915.1451 Archibald served in the Army from 7 September 1915 to 19 March 1920.931 Archibald joined the Army as a Driver in the Royal Army Service Corps (Private 62/120377). He initially gave his next of kin as his mother, Louisa COOMBER. On 20 September 1915 he joined the Expeditionary Force in France where he was an Ambulance Driver. He became a Prisoner of War on 23 March 1918, and was repatriated on 7 December 1918. In 1919 his rank was Lance Corporal. He was a Corporal when discharged in 1920. He was described as 5'-5" tall with 39 1/2" chest fully expanded on 7 September 1915.1451
