36. William Alfred BLABER^147,148 was born about 1815 in Brighton, East Sussex, England. He was christened on 9 April 1815 in St Nicholas' Church, Brighton, East Sussex, England.^34,65,85,88 He emigrated before 21 November 1838 to New York City, New York, USA. William died on 1 August 1849 at the age of 34 in New York City, New York, USA.^65,149 He died at 31 Scannel Street, of Cholera. His body was removed from the city. We are not 100% certain that this William Blaber is the one that emigrated to USA, but all the evidence available points to this fact.

William Alfred BLABER and Julia RIORDAN were married.³⁴ Julia RIORDAN¹⁴⁸ was born in 1806 in England.^150,151 She lived at Beckett Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA in 1870.¹⁵² Julia was living with her son William at the 1870 census. She was Roman Catholic.³⁴

William Alfred BLABER⁶⁵ was born on 16 September 1849 in New York City, New York, USA.^34,154 He was christened on 18 September 1849 in St Mary's Church, New York City, New York, USA.^34,65 St Mary's Church is at 440 Grand Street, New York NY10002. Sponsors were Edward Flynn and Julia Gaynor. Priest was Rev William Starrs. He was named after his father, who died two weeks before his birth. In 1864 he was a Rule Maker.¹⁵⁵ William was described as Brown eyes, fair hair, light complexion, height 5ft 6ins in 1864.¹⁵⁵ He served in the Army from 12 July 1864 to 29 October 1864.^65,155,156 He served as a Private in the Union Army, Company K, 84th Regiment, New York National Guard, Company K. He served near Washington DC, Great Falls Md and Winchester Va. He was involved in a skirmish near Muddy Branch Md. He lived at Beckett Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA in 1870.¹⁵² At the 1870 census, Williams mother, Julia, was living with him.
