William died on 1 August 1849 at the age of 34 in New York City, New York, USA.65,149 He died at 31 Scannel Street, of Cholera. His body was removed from the city. We are not 100% certain that this William Blaber is the one that emigrated to USA, but all the evidence available points to this fact.

Sponsors were Edward Flynn and Julia Gaynor. Priest was Rev William Starrs. He was named after his father, who died two weeks before his birth. In 1864 he was a Rule Maker.155 William was described as Brown eyes, fair hair, light complexion, height 5ft 6ins in 1864.155 He served in the Army from 12 July 1864 to 29 October 1864.65,155,156 He served as a Private in the Union Army, Company K, 84th Regiment, New York National Guard, Company K. He served near Washington DC, Great Falls Md and Winchester Va. He was involved in a skirmish near Muddy Branch Md. He lived at Beckett Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA in 1870.152 At the 1870 census, Williams mother, Julia, was living with him.
