From Larne Times, Saturday, 19th December 1936 PRETENCE PROVES FATAL BOY FOUND HANGED A verdict of death by misadventure was recorded by the Coroner (Dr E F Hoare) at the inquest in Eastbourne last week on Ronald BLABER, aged 16, of Cavalry Crescent, Eastbourne, who was found dead on Wednesday hanging by a dressing gown cord on his bedroom door. His sister said that she had told him she was joining the V.A.D., and several times he pretended to be hurt, or ill, in order to frighten her. The Coroner said he thought the boy was trying an experiment, or was pretending to be hanging to give his sister a terrible shock, and that he was entitled to a verdict of death by misadventure.
