38. Janet Elizabeth BLABER was born on 2 October 1884 in Poplar, London, England.203,207,308,394,395,396,397,398 Her name was registered as "Janet" Elizabeth BLABER. We can only assume that this is a mistake by the officiating priest as all other records give her mother's name as "Janet", and Janet/Jeannette Elizabeth seems to have dropped her first given name by 1891, calling herself Elizabeth BLABER. Janet lived at 65 Willis Street in Poplar, London, England in 1891.199 At the 1891 Census and subsequently she is known as Elizabeth BLABER. She emigrated on 9 March 1893 to Canada.192,308,400 Elizabeth BLABER sailed from Liverpool to Halifax, Canada, on the 'Sardinian'. She was in a large group of forty two children aged from 4 to 18, presumably 'Home Children' sent to Canada for adoption. Her elder sister had already been sent to Canada a year earlier. Both her younger sister and her mother had died within the previous five years. Her birth mother died when (Jeannette) Elizabeth was about 5 years of age. She lived at home in Osprey, Grey County, Ontario, Canada in 1911.401 In the 1911 Canadian census, Elizabeth was shown as the wife of Robert Fachnie. His dates agreed with those of Robert, brother of James. Is it possible that James died sometime after John Edward's birth, and Elizabeth then married (or co-habited with) Robert?? No record of the death of James Fachnie has been found, nor any marriage for Robert Fachnie..
