Caroline BLABER2 was born about 1808 in Henfield, West Sussex, England.25,26,27,28 She was christened on 20 November 1808 in Woodmancote, West Sussex, England.2,29 In 1841–1871 she was a Dress Maker.25,30,31,32 In 1851, Caroline employed 2 women. Also living with them in 1851 was unmarried Emily HUNT, 19, Servant and Dress Maker, from Brighton. In 1861, Caroline was employing 3 women and 1 girl. Caroline lived at 5 Clifton Place in Brighton, East Sussex, England in 1881.33 After the death of husband John, Caroline's niece Caroline BLABER moved in as her Cook. There was also another resident General Servant, Emily HAMBLIN (30). Caroline was probably ill or frail as she died 9 months later.

Although the 1881 Census and Probate Documents show that Caroline is now resident at No 5 Clifton Place, it is clear from the residents' names in adjoining properties that Caroline has NOT moved. The houses must have been re-numbered.

In 1881 she was a Retired Dressmaker.33 She died at home on 26 January 1883 at the age of 75 in Brighton, East Sussex, England.34,35 Caroline had her estate probated on 22 March 1883 in Lewes, East Sussex, England.35 Caroline's Will was proved by Emmanual BOUTCHER of 125 Queen's Road, Brighton, Furniture Dealer, the sole Executor. Her Personal Estate was £492 19s 0d.

Caroline BLABER and John COPPARD were married on 4 April 1831 in St Nicholas' Church, Brighton, East Sussex, England.36,37 They36,37 lived at Upper Russell Street in Brighton, East Sussex, England in 1841.32 They32 lived at 3 Clifton Place in Brighton, East Sussex, England in 1851–1871.30,31,38 Caroline and John30,31,38 lived at 5 Clifton Place in Brighton, East Sussex, England in 1874.39 3 Clifton Place was re-numbered to 5 Clifton Place.
John COPPARD was born about 1806 in Cuckfield, West Sussex, England.40,41,42,43 Between 1841 and 1871 he was a Journeyman Carpenter.30,31,32,38 In 1861, John was employing 1 man. He died on 18 March 1874 at the age of 68 in Brighton, East Sussex, England.39,40 John had his estate probated on 23 April 1874 in Lewes, East Sussex, England.39 The Will of John COPPARD was proved by Caroline COPPARD of 5 Clifton Place, Widow the Relict the sole Executrix. Effects were under £300.
