Ernest Charles BLABER was born on 19 May 1881 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.^{2223,3580,3581,3582,3583} He was christened on 10 March 1889 at St James' Church in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.^2223,3582 He lived at 9 Thoroughfare Yard, St Nicholas in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England in 1889.^2223,3582 Ernest lived at 4 Marriotts Row in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England in 1891.²²²⁰ He lived at 73 Hartley Road, Radford in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England in 1901–1912.^2221,3584 In 1901–1914 he was a Shoemaker/Boot & Shoe Repairer.^{2221,3584,3585,3586} Ernest worked at home with his father for some time. In the 1914 Wright's Directory he had premises listed at: 73 Hartley Road, Radford; 76 Wordsworth Road, Radford; 103 Foster Street, Radford.
Ernest appears to have separated (or divorced) from Ellen between 1907 and 1915. He lived at 45 Woodside Road in South Norwood, Croydon, Surrey, England in 1915.²²³⁹ In 1915 he was a Saddler.³⁵⁸⁷ Ernest served in the Army from 28 October 1915 to 12 November 1915.²²³⁹ He claimed not to be married when enlisting. He gave his father Horatio BLABER as next of kin. He was specially enlisted into the Royal Field Artillery as a Saddler, but he was discharged from the army after only 16 days as "not likely to become an efficient soldier (Failed to pass tests)", although of "Good Character".
He was described as 5'-5.1/2" tall on 28 October 1915.²²³⁹ In 1924 he was a Leather Merchant.²²³² Ernest lived at 12 York Street in Broadstairs, Kent, England in 1939.³⁵⁸³ At the 1939 Register, Ernest's son Horatio is living with him. Also living with him is a Florence B BLABER, married (DoB: 31 July 1879) who was probably wife of Ernest Charles, possibly even Horatio's mother nee OSBORNE. We have been unable to find any marriage details.
In 1939 he was a Master Boot Repairer.³⁵⁸³ He died on 20 February 1964 at the age of 82 at York House Nursing Home in Broadstairs, Kent, England.³⁵⁸⁸ Ernest had his estate probated on 4 August 1964 in London, England.³⁵⁸⁸ Ernest willed his estate (£5494) to his son Horatio Charles BLABER, company director.

OSBORNE was born (date unknown). We have not been able to find any evidence that Ernest married Miss OSBORNE, mother of Horatio Charles O BLABER.

Ernest Charles BLABER and Ellen ELSTON were married in 1903 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.³⁵⁸⁹ They³⁵⁸⁹ lived at 43 Hartley Road in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England in 1907.³⁵⁹⁰ Ellen ELSTON, daughter of Arthur ELSTON, was born on 19 July 1880 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.^{3591,3592,3593} She lived at Back of 73 Hartley Road in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England in 1920–1931.³⁵⁹⁴ In September 1937–1939 she was a Shop Keeper - Off-Licence and General.³⁵⁹³ In the Nottingham Evening Post of 24th September 1937 under 'LICENCE TRANSFERS - Approval by Nottingham Justices' it is recorded that the Off-License shop at 48 Gawthorne Street was transferred from a Margaret Annie SULLIVAN to Ellen BLABER.
Ellen lived at 48 Gawthorne Street in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England in September 1937–1939.³⁵⁹³ At the 1939 Register, her nephew Ernest Dennis ELSTON is living with Ellen.
She died in 1963 at the age of 83 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.³⁵⁹⁵
