On the death of Martha and Richard CARTER, Richard BLABER and Philadelphia married each other. Richard BLABER and Philadelphia BREACH were married on 3 June 1849 in St Nicholas' Church, Brighton, East Sussex, England.169,180,181,182 The marriage was witness by James Carter and Caroline Shelley. Philadelphia was married as Mrs Carter following the death of her first husband, Richard Carter. It is possible that witness James Carter was the brother of her late husband. This has yet to be confirmed. Philadelphia BREACH, daughter of Edward BREACH and Tabitha HOLFORD, was born about 1793 in Barcombe, East Sussex, England.180,183,184,185 She was christened on 19 May 1793 in Barcombe, East Sussex, England.180 She lived at St Nicholas Lane in Lewes, East Sussex, England between 30 March 1851 and 1861.170,184 Philadelphia lived at Union House, St Ann's Parish in Lewes, East Sussex, England in 1871.186 Name recorded as Phillis (sic) Blaber in 1871 census, widow, born in Lewes, aged 78. There is a high probability that this is the same person as Philadelphia. She died about 1872 at the age of 79 in Lewes, East Sussex, England.180,187 Again the name 'Phillis' was used in death records.
