388. Bessie Mary BLABER^{1456,1457,1472,1495,1506} was born on 19 March 1881 in Steyning, West Sussex, England.^{2681,2682,2683} Stated as "Infant Blaber" in 1881 census. She lived at Charlton Street in Steyning, West Sussex, England on 4 April 1881.³²⁴ She lived at 74 Heighton Street in West Firle, East Sussex, England in 1891.¹⁵⁰¹ Bessie went to live with her Aunt, Elizabeth (nee Blaber) Lamport and family, in West Firle, Sussex, England as a young girl. In 1901 Bessie was a Parlour Maid.²⁶⁸⁴ She lived at 6 Grange Gardens in Eastbourne, East Sussex, England in 1901.²⁶⁸⁴ At the 1901 census, she lived-in at the home of Colonel James William H Johnstone (retired - Indian Army) and his family. She emigrated in 1905 to Canada.^2685,2686 It is suspected that Bessie's brother, William, may have funded a trip to "The Old Country" in 1913 or 1914 for sister Bessie and her four children under ten years of age. WWI broke out while they were in England and they were unable to return to Canada for some time. The older children were even enrolled in school in Lewes, where they lived in Paddock Lane.
Bessie died in 1947 at the age of 66 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. She was also known as Cis or Cissie.

Bessie Mary BLABER and John William PUCKETT were married in 1903 in West Firle, East Sussex, England.²⁶⁸⁷ Witnessed by Ann Lamport (#1913). John William PUCKETT^{1456,1457,1472,2688}, son of James George PUCKETT and Ellen LOWMAN, was born on 27 October 1876 in Stinsford, Dorset, England.²⁶⁸⁸ He emigrated in 1905 to Canada.²⁶⁸⁵ From 1914 to 1942 he was a Post Office worker.²⁶⁸⁸ John retired in 1942.²⁶⁸⁸ He died on 6 January 1977 at the age of 100 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was also known as Jack or Johnny. John was a boy chorister in Cathedral Choir. In 1914 he served in World War 1 (and later in WW2). In 1938 he took part in Vimy Pilgrimage, and visited Festival of Britain in 1952.
