Thomas Lewis HATCHER was born on 26 August 1888 in Wimbledon, London, England.44 He emigrated in 1913 to Quebec, Canada.44 In 1914 he was a Salesman.44 Thomas served in the Army from 19 March 1917.44 He volunteered to join up with the Canadian Expeditionary Force, Trooper 2147460, Fort Garry Horse.
Posthumously awarded C of S - plaque sent to Annie 13 September 1920.
Posthumously awarded P&S - scroll sent to Annie 30 October 1920. He died of wounds to abdomen at No. 41 Casualty Clearing Station on 2 April 1918 at the age of 29 in Somme, France.44 He was buried in Namps-Au-Val British Cemetery, Somme, France.44

Thomas Lewis HATCHER and Annie "Auntie Sis" LAINSBURY were married in 1913 in Tooting, Wandsworth, London, England.44 Annie "Auntie Sis" LAINSBURY was born on 21 February 1885 in Spenser's Wood, Berkshire, England.44 She emigrated in 1913 to Quebec, Canada.44 She lived at 462 Rita Street in Sturgeon Creek, Manitoba, Canada between 1913 and 1920.44 Joan Hatcher believes Annie returned to the UK after the war to seek approval from the Hatcher family for her marriage to a Mr Warburton. There is an A Hatcher (35) and a C Hatcher (4) on a passage from the UK back to Canada in 1921.
Annie also gave a UK address to the army: c/o W Lainsbury, High View Road, Farnborough, Hampshire, England. Possibly her father or brother. Auntie Sis died on 14 October 1973 at the age of 88 in Vancouver, BC, Canada.44
