Frederick George BLABER101 was born about 1875 in Epsom, Surrey, England.548,549,550,551,552 He lived at 1 Furze Street (South End) in Bromley, Kent, England in 1881.101 He lived at 8 Ruthven Street in Hackney, London, England in 1891.374 In 1891 Frederick was a Clerk.374 He sailed from Southampton to Cape Town on the 'Carisbrook Castle' on 9 June 1900.553 Frederick was unmarried at this journey. He may possibly have been on the Cape Medical Staff during the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902). In 1911–1928 he was a Retired Caterer.555,556 In 1926 he was a Tobacconist.531 Frederick died at sea on 7 February 1928 at the age of 53.556,557 Frederick (Aged 52 - born in Epsom, Surrey, Caterer) was on board the SS Umboli (registered in London). He contracted Septicaemia (or Blood Poisoning) and died when the ship was at Lat: 3º 39' S; Long: 6º 32' W, at 2:00 am on 7th February 1928. He was a Saloon Passenger. Frederick George BLABER and Mary Gilmour MACNAB were married about 1902.558,559 In the 1911 England Census, Frederick was stated to be married for 3 years, but this had been pencilled-in and deleted. Without further evidence to date we have taken Mary's statement of 9 year's of marriage in the 1911 Scotland Census. They558,559 lived at 386 Brigstock Road in Thornton Heath, Surrey, England in 1928.557 Mary Gilmour MACNAB, daughter of Robert MACNAB and Helen GIBB, was born on 10 April 1876 at Stane in Shotts, Lanarkshire, Scotland.560,561 She was born at 1:30 am. She lived at 14 Buchanan Drive in Rutherglen, Scotland in 1911.562 At the 1911 Census, Mary was visiting William MOFFAT and his family. She immigrated on 31 August 1936 from Durban, South Africa.563 Mary and daughter Rosalind sailed in the SS City of Simla from Durban to London. Mary died on 14 July 1938 at the age of 62 at Hotel de Paris in Aix les Bains, France.564 Informant was RP Blaber (daughter).
