Emmaline M "Emma" BLABER1,2,3 was born on 22 February 1847 in West Brunswick twp., PA (SCHUYLKILL).4 She died on 6 October 1910 at the age of 63 in Auburn, Schuylkill County, PA, USA.4 She was buried on 9 October 1910 in Ch. of God Cem., Auburn, PA (SCHUYLKILL).4 According to Randy Hall: "Family legend has painted her as a slow, but dependable domestic who had relations with several men and ended up bearing children to three of them [We now know that she had children with at least five different men! - JAB]. She first shows up in the 1860 Federal Census for Pennsylvania, as a 13 year old, living with Jacob Petry. Emmaline stayed closely allied with the Petry clan all throughout her life. In fact, her death certificate states that her father was a "Mr. Blaber" and her mother was Mary E. Petry. I have not been able to determine which "Mary Petry" was Emmaline's mother yet; there are several candidates. As far as her father, Mr. Blaber goes, I have not found ANY Blabers circulating or living in the Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania area during the 1840's and 1850's (Emmaline was born February 22, 1847). The family legend has precious little to say about Mr. Blaber; possibly a traveling salesman or carpetbagger." Francis Augustine MENGLE3, son of William F. MENGEL and Catherine L. LEIBENSBERGER, was born on 23 June 1847.5 He died on 17 September 1908 at the age of 61.6 He was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Altoona, PA (BLAIR). Francis was a R.R. blacksmith. He lived on 2410 Beale St., Altoona, PA. Emmaline M "Emma" BLABER-3935 and Francis Augustine MENGLE-4394 had the following children:
