He lived at 7 Queens Place in Brighton, East Sussex, England in 1866.165 In 1871 David was a Ship's Fireman.166 David was onboard the SS Alexandria at the 1871 census, and was 'unmarried'. In 1883 he was a Ship's Winchman at SS 'Balaarat'.167 On 21 May 1883, his ship had just arrived in Sydney, NSW, Australia from London, England. On 5 November 1883, his ship had just arrived in Sydney again. In 1885 he was a Marine Engineer.168 In 1891 David was a Ship's Winchman at SS 'Arcadia'.163 On 22 February 1891, his ship had arrived in Sydney, Australia from London, England. In 1897 he was an Engineer.155 Between 1901 and 1911 he was a Ship's Fitter.169,170 David died about 1920 at the age of 75 in Chichester, West Sussex, England.47,168,171,172 He was described as 'deceased' at the marriage of Edward Ernest BLABER in 1885. He does not appear in the 1871 or 1881 census. But he does appear to be the same David BLABER that married Georgina Emily Miller in 1894, and appears in the 1901 and 1911 censuses!

She lived at 19 Bishop's Grove in Islington, London, England in 1871.193 At the 1871 census, Emma is living with her husband's brother, Edward and family. However, she is stated as 'unmarried'. It is believed that she never actually married David, but took his name, until she left him to be married to Robert Linfield. She lived at 17 Hartington Road in Brighton, East Sussex, England in 1911.194 At the 1911 census, Emma was living with her son David Alfred BLABER (Emma Adelaide LINFIELD - widow). Emma died in 1929 at the age of 87 in Brighton, East Sussex, England.195
