"Yesterday afternoon Mr Richards held an inquest at the London hospital on the body of Alfred BLABER, aged 18, of 6 Smith's Terrace, Old Ford, Bow. The evidence proved that the deceased was employed as clerk to Messrs Drew, biscuit makers, Shadwell. On Monday, while descending from the first floor in a lift, owing to a disarrangement of the ropes the lift was precipitated below with great violence; the deceased was thrown therefrom and crushed against the flooring. He was at once removed to the hospital where he expired from shock caused by the injuries. Verdict, "Accidental death.""
