The evidence proved that the deceased was employed as clerk to Messrs Drew, biscuit makers, Shadwell. On Monday, while descending from the first floor in a lift, owing to a disarrangement of the ropes the lift was precipitated below with great violence; the deceased was thrown therefrom and crushed against the flooring.
