GEDCOM Information

1 February 2011: We regret that GEDCOMs will NOT be available on this website in future.
If you would like an up-to-date GEDCOM for any family branch, please post a request in the Guest Book using the 'Private Message' facility. You must be able to prove beyond any doubt that you are a member of that family branch.

What is a GEDCOM file? GEDCOM is an acronym for GEnealogical Data COMmunication, and was developed as a standard for exchanging computerised genealogical data. Most genealogical software programs can import and export GEDCOM files. This makes it easy to exchange and share information with relatives and others. However, not all genealogy software programs are equal, and some data (sometimes, quite important data) can be lost when exporting/importing GEDCOM files.
