"Yesterday, a city clerk, named Ernest BLABER, was seriously injured yesterday at Clapham Junction when attempting to leave a train which was in motion. He fell between a carriage and the platform, and was dragged a considerable distance." Pall Mall Gazette; 1 February; Page 8. "ACCIDENT AT CLAPHAM JUNCTION As the 8:14 train from Clapham Junction for Waterloo this morning was moving away from the platform a young man opened one of the carriage doors, and in doing so he slipped and fell between the train and the platform, and was drawn some considerable distance. On being extracted it was ascertained that he was still alive, and he was taken to St Thomas's Hospital. At eleven he was in a very critical condition, and had been identified as Ernest BLABER, a City clerk, living at No. 19, Curry Road, Clapham Junction." We can only assume that he succumbed to his injuries.
