41. Ellen BLABER^7,247 was born on 23 September 1885 at Mount Pleasant in Lewes, East Sussex, England.^{552,553,554,555} Her birth was registered by her mother on 2 November 1885. She was christened on 7 February 1886 in Castle Banks.⁵⁵⁶ She lived at Vallance Cottage, Vallance Road in Lewes, East Sussex, England in 1891.²⁷⁴ Ellen lived at 6 Neville Road in Lewes, East Sussex, England in 1901.²⁷⁵ She lived at 175 High Street in Lewes, East Sussex, England in 1911.⁵⁵⁷ At the 1911 Census, Ellen was a live-in servant at the home of Frances Burchett Brook (widow, 69). In 1911 she was a Housemaid.⁵⁵⁷ Ellen lived at Monk's Orchard in East Blatchington, East Sussex, England between 24 June 1916 and 25 October 1916.^260,558 In the original 1891 census, her name is given as Helen.

Ellen BLABER and Henry John MAYO were married on 24 June 1916 at the Parish Church in East Blatchington, East Sussex, England.^260,558 Their marriage was witnessed by John RICKETTS and Ellen GREEN. Ellen's age was given as 23, but she would have been about 31. Henry John MAYO, son of John MAYO, was born in 1888.^559,560 He served in the Army between 2 October 1914 and 5 March 1916.⁵⁵⁸ Henry enlisted in No 1 Company, ASC, 53rd Welsh Division, but transferred to No 4 Company on 31 July 1915. He was discharged on 5 March 1916. In 1916 he was a Wagoner.⁵⁵⁸ Henry lived at Sellack Bridge in King's Caple, Herefordshire, England in 1916.⁵⁵⁸ He served in the Army between 6 March 1916 and 6 April 1919.^260,558 He re-enlisted in the army on 6 March 1916, but stated that he had previously served in No 1 & 4 Company ASC. He was awarded the Victory and British Medals. His regimental numbers were: Army Service Corps T4/173405 (he was a Driver of Horse Transport); Labour Corps 555359. He was a Private throughout his time in the army. He was demobbed on 6 April 1919. He was described as 5'-8" tall with a 36" chest on 6 March 1916.⁵⁵⁸
