Henry James BLABER⁷ was born about 1852 in South Malling, Lewes, East Sussex, England.^{243,244,245,246} Between 1874 and 1891 he was a Labourer.^73,247,248 Between 1876 and 1882 he was a Gunner in the Royal Artillery.^{249,250,251,252,253} Henry lived at 2 Gothic Row in South Shoebury, Essex, England in 1881.²⁵⁴ In 1889 he was a General Labourer.²⁵⁵ Between 1901 and 1916 he was a Brewery Maltster.^{256,257,258,259,260,261,262} Henry lived at 6 Nevill Road in Lewes, East Sussex, England in 1911.²⁶² At the 1911 Census, Henry gives his middle name as 'George' but date of birth, occupation and address all confirm that this IS Henry James BLABER. Boarding with him is a 38 year old Housekeeper, Cordelia Frances BURT, and daughter Winifred Cordelia BURT aged 3. It would appear from other evidence that Winifred is in fact Henry's daughter.
He died 34 St John's Street on 14 May 1930 at the age of 78 in Lewes, East Sussex, England.^263,264 Present at his death was his daughter W BLABER of the same address. This is probably Winifred Cordelia BLABER/BURT.
He was buried on 17 May 1930 at St John's Sub Castro Church in Lewes, East Sussex, England.⁷⁰

Cordelia Frances BURT, daughter of James BURT and Cordelia NOVIS, was born on 5 April 1872 in Lewes, East Sussex, England.^265,266,267 She lived at 28 St John Street in Lewes, East Sussex, England in 1881.²⁶⁸ She lived at 6 Nevill Road in Lewes, East Sussex, England in 1911.²⁶² In the 1911 Census, Cordelia is described as a Boarder at the house of Henry James BLABER. In 1911 Cordelia was a Housekeeper.²⁶² She lived at 34 St John Street in Lewes, East Sussex, England in 1939.²⁶⁷ In the 1939 Register she is stated to be Single. It is likely that she and Henry James BLABER never were married.
In 1939 she was a Music Teacher.²⁶⁷ Cordelia died in 1944 at the age of 72 in Lewes, East Sussex, England.²⁶⁹

In the 1939 register at the age of 31 she was still using the surname BURT, although this had been amended in the register at a later date to BLABER, indicating she may have officially changed her surname after 1939. Her death and probate were recorded using the surname BLABER.
